Removal is the first stage of most replacement jobs and sometimes the whole job. We take out driveways, patios, walks, steps, slabs and small walls. Oakland lots make this harder than it sounds: narrow side yards, shared driveways, houses close to the line and hill sites where a machine cannot reach.
We saw-cut clean edges where old concrete stays, break the rest with the smallest equipment that will do it, and carry it out by machine or by hand. Broken concrete goes to a recycler where it is crushed for reuse as base rock. Before we dig, we contact USA North 811 so the utility companies can mark their lines.
Once the slab is gone we can see what was under it. Often it is bare soil with no base at all. We will show you what we find, then either prepare the ground for new concrete or grade it and leave it ready for planting.
Concrete removal in Oakland: common questions
Is haul-away included?
Yes. Our removal quote covers breaking out, loading, hauling and disposal, and it says so in writing.
Can you remove concrete from a backyard with no vehicle access?
Yes. We use small machines that fit through a gate, or break it by hand and wheel it out. It takes longer, and the quote reflects that.
Will removal damage my neighbor's driveway or fence?
We saw-cut along the line first so the break stops there, and we protect fences and walls next to the work. On a shared driveway we talk through access with both owners before starting.
